EXCELLENCE IN STAINED GLASS Schickel Design Company under the direction of architect and artist Martha Schickel Dorff, AIA, has completed two stained glass projects for area hospitals. The award-winning firm created a dynamic four foot by six foot multicolored window entitled “Joy” at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Dayton Ohio. The window shows a group of children dancing in a circle. It is done in authentic, crystalline, German stained glass. It creates a sense of warmth and delight in the small hospital chapel. Clinton Memorial hospital Chapel in Wilmington received a beautiful window in tones of greens and gold. A quotation from Psalms, “I will lift my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth,” is lettered into two windows, placed side by side near the altar. The quotation is incorporated into a semi abstract scene of village, sun and hills beyond.
