Facilities Planning, Architecture, Interior Design
Sensitive, skillful adaptive re-use combined with new construction.
A dynamic new atrium connects two historic structures (a Victorian residence and an old Carnegie Library) making them part of the display. Restored stained glass is placed in a forest of illuminated towers viewed on two levels. Schickel Design Company worked closely with Mary Bryan Hood, director of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art. They created a dynamic collaborative team, which included Cincinnati architectural firm Arch Image 2 and Emil Frei Stained Glass Studio of St Louis.
