Cincinnati Architect, Schickel Design, created an award-winning chapel for Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio

"Now that all the work is done and the dedication has been held, I want to take a moment to express my thanks, as well as my joy, for what has been created...Finally, let me simply say this has been a lot of fun, and I will miss working with you all." - Reverend William E. Scrivener / Senior Director of Pastoral Care

"It's a really peaceful, beautiful worship space... I add my kudos to the professional acclaim you have received. As a stressed parent with a child requiring medical attention, it's a nice space for re-arming oneself." - Mary Hill Herman, Parent of a CCHMC patient

SERVICES: Liturgical Design, Design Consultation, Interior Design Build, Stained Glass, Works of Art, Custom Furnishings

DESCRIPTION: A spacious chapel reflects the commitment of this world class children's facility to the spiritual component of healing. Historic elements from the original Chapel of the Holy Child (in a building torn down to accommodate the hospital's growth) are combined with contemporary elements. Three interconnected spaces combine to form this chapel. They can be used separately for the many faiths represented by the international patients and staff, or together for larger occasions. Custom liturgical furnishings, stained glass, and paintings work together with the architecture to create a functional, flexible sacred space of beauty and reverence.
