Price Hill Will - Meiser's Market

SERVICES: Programming, Schematic design, Architecture, White Boxing, Permitting, Construction Administration

DESCRIPTION: Meiser’s Market is a former convenience store and one of a set of contiguous commercial buildings in Lower Price Hill. The local CDC, Price Hill Will, owns the market as well as the adjoining storefronts, which are vacant and in disrepair. They hired our team to design a solution for the three buildings and white box them for potential tenants, with the intention of redesignating one as a food market, in the middle of what has become a food desert. Since many of the neighborhood's residents do not have access to reliable transportation, a market in this location will make it much easier for pedestrians to shop for essentials. With symbiotic tenants in other spaces, like a restaurant or another gathering place, the entire complex will once again be relevant and central to the community. Outdoor seating on the corner of Hatmaker and State will reaccentuate the block as part of the urban fabric.
